I think that God is irrelevant to this topic because this topic is about the survival of a species. We are the same as all mammals we reproduce so that our people stay on the earth for years to come and this was happening thousands of years before the concept of God or gods was even around. I disagree with the passage because sexual intercourse can happen between any genders weather that be with two males or two females. I also think that people don't have to get married or even have to love each other. I believe that the two people who have sexual intercourse only have too agree that they want to and believe they are ready.
My question is: What are your beliefs on the subjects?
Nico Di Angelo from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and the Hero's of Olympus series stands out to me because he shows how much a person can change. In the beginning of the Titans Curse (book 3 of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series) Nico was a very happy out going kid even after he encountered his first monster who tried to kill him. He went to Camp Half-Blood (the only safe place for people like him, Greek demigods), and his sister went on a quest. She dies saving all of the other people on the quest. His cousin Percy (the main character) tells him. Nico becomes angry and bitter as he runs away from camp, but not before being claimed by his father Hades and using his godly power for the first time summoning skeleton warriors that attack Percy. Nico appears in the other book throughout that particular series and helps Percy at times. He is re-introduced in the Hero's of Olympus series when Percy loses his memories and wanders into another camp but instead of being a Greek camp it is Roman and called Camp Jupiter. Nico has a new sister and is more caring now that he has a family to care for. At the end of the series Nico has become less negative now that he has a happy go lucky boyfriend, Will Solace son of Apollo.
Hello, today I'm introducing the program Healthy Eating at School.
Healthy Eating at School is a program in schools that helps teach children/students that healthy eating can impact their learning and how they handle things on a day to day basis. The program originates in B.C. . They have many links to reliable sources that contain facts about what foods are best to eat and what other impacts the different types of food have on your body. They know and have links to all of the guidelines for food restrictions, food and beverage sales, etc, so you know what to expect. The program has many resources and community partners. They may even have so in your community!
Here is a link to their website!
Now I have a question for you.! What do you consider healthy? Why? And how do you reach that goal?
What I am doing: Today I was given a story about mental health from my teacher. I had to highlight all of the key points and make a critical thinking question related to the story.
ames just moved from B.C. to a school in Ontario. As a grade 8 student, moving half way through a school year, he's having a hard time adjusting to all this change. He feels the reasons for his move are private, and he's not comfortable discussing them with anyone, but people keep asking about it. He feels like after the first two weeks in his new class he doesn't want to be friends with anyone. His teacher, along with the work being assigned, seems so different from what he was doing out west. James is becoming very stressed out. Just recently, he verbally abused his bus driver on his way to school and was given a suspension.
- James is having a hard time adjusting to all of the change of a new school.
- His reasons for moving are private and doesn't want to be friend with anyone.
- School is much different than what he is used to.
- He is becoming very stressed.
- verbally abused his bus driver and was given a suspension.
What should James do to help himself, and why should he do this? Please use information other then your own knowledge to answer the question.
Hi, this is a question from Orbiting Jupiter for you to answer. Have fun and good luck! Your question is ...
What are some emotions that you felt during chapters 4 -6 when reading/listening? When and why?
f you were to write a soundtrack for your Orbiting Jupiter movie, which songs (3-4) would you choose and why would you choose them?
If I were to write a soundtrack for an Orbiting Jupiter movie, three songs I would choose are Take Me to Church by Hozier, Creep by Radiohead, Someone Like You by Adele.
The first song I would choose is Take Me to Church by Hozier. The part where I would put this song is after Joseph talks to the priest. I would choose this song because in both the song and book their is a lot of prosecution and the tune fits the theme.
My First reason I would choose this song is because I think this song has a hidden meaning about life struggles. This is because Take Me to Church is about being prosecuted in the catholic church, this relates to Orbiting Jupiter because Joseph can hardly walk around Jack’s school without being prosecuted by almost everyone. An example of this is when Mr. Canton is telling Jack not to hang around Joseph.
My second reason I would choose Take Me to Church is because the tune of the song fits the theme. I think this because the tune of the song is sad and so is Joseph’s life. An example of this is when Joseph was telling his foster parents (Jack’s parents) about how he had to give Jupiter (his daughter) up for adoption.
That is why I think that Take Me to Church is a good song for a movie of Orbiting Jupiter. Click here for the song with lyrics.
The second song I would choose is Creep by Radiohead. The part where I would put this song is when Joseph meets Maddie for the first time (in the flashback) I would choose this song because it is a very depressing song and the song is about an outsider.
My first reason I would choose Creep is because this song is very depressing. I think this is important is because Joseph comes from a poor family and he loves Maddie but he can’t ever have her. This relates to the song because the depressiveness of the song represents that it’s sad that they are not allowed to be together.
My second reason I would choose this song is because the song is about an outsider. This is important because Joseph knows he can’t have her because he is poor and she is rich and their parents wouldn’t be happy and separate them and their relationship. This relates to the song because the song says that the girl is so beautiful but he can’t have her because he is a freak and an outsider.
This is why I would choose Creep by Radiohead. Click here for the song with lyrics.
The third song I would choose is Someone Like You by Adele. The part where I would put this song is when Joseph is done talking about his past. I would choose this song because it shows that Joseph is finally opening up to people and that he will never forget Maddie.
My first reason I would choose Someone Like You by Adele is because it shows that joseph is finally opening up to Jack’s family. This is because the line “ Why don’t you remember the reason you left me.” in the song means that she doesn’t want to forget why he left her, just like Joseph doesn’t want to forget Maddie and that he will do everything in his power not to forget her and what has happened.
My second reason I would choose this song is because this song is about never forgetting someone, in Joseph’s case Maddie and in Adele’s case a boyfriend. The line “ Don’t forget me I beg, I’ll remember you said.” shows never forgetting and not wanting the other person to forget you.
This is why I would choose this song for an Orbiting Jupiter movie. Click here for the song with lyrics.
These are the reasons why I would choose Take Me to Church, Creep, and Someone Like You for a sound track in Orbiting Jupiter.
Question: If you were to cast a movie for Orbiting Jupiter which actors or actresses would you choose to pay the lead roles and why?
Answer: I would choose Logan Lerman to play Joseph because he has black hair and brown eyes, is more serious when acting and can play the more suspenseful parts in movies. Logan played Percy in both the Percy Jackson movies.
My first reason for why I think that Logan Lerman should play Joseph in Orbiting Jupiter is because he has black hair just like Joseph and brown. I think it is a very important part of playing the part because when I watch a movie that is based off of a book, I think the characters should look the characters described in the book. I imagine Joseph as a tall 14 year old boy with longer black hair that covered his eyes and dark chocolate brown eyes and I think Logan fits that criteria.
My second reason for why I think that Logan Lerman should play Joseph is because Logan is a more serious when acting. I think this quality is important because Joseph doesn’t make jokes or talk that much. When Logan played Percy he was a very misunderstood character because Percy can see thing that normal people couldn’t. Percy acted very timid/shy and quiet when he when to camp half-blood and right befor that was when Percy’s ‘’mother’’ was kidnapped. So when Percy was entering camp he acted sad, jumpy, and depressed, just like Joseph. This relates to Orbiting Jupiter because when Joseph first went to Jack’s house to live he looked very depressed, sad, timid, shy and jumpy. Joseph also didn’t smile or talk.
My third reason for why I think that Logan Lerman should play Joseph is because he can act out very suspenseful parts in movies. Like in Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief, when he was fighting Medusa it was very suspenseful because Percy couldn't simply look at Medusa or else he would be turned to stone. So Percy had to use his IPod to look at the reflection of Medusa. Also in Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters, when Scylla swallowed Percy’s little row boat. Percy, Annabeth and Grover tried to row free. This relates to the book Orbiting Jupiter because when Jack’s dad accidentally touched Joseph. In this part of the book Joseph jumped up from his stool run over to the wall of the barn with his hands up. He look terrified.
I would chose Maxwell Perry Cotton to play Jack because he can act innocent, Caring and brave. Maxwell Perry Cotton played Billy in Mr. Popper’s Penguins.
My first reason why I would chose Maxwell is because he can act innocent. He displayed that he could be innocent in Mr. Popper’s Penguins when he went to his dad’s apartment for his birthday. His Dad opened the door to his apartment a crack so that you could only see his face and said “ Sorry I am not ready yet. “ Than all of a sudden there's a strange noise. Billy looks down and sees a penguin. Billy says “ Look a penguin! “. This relates to the book Orbiting Jupiter because Jack is very innocent and so in Billy. Jack is innocent by he has never gotten into trouble at school or even at home.
My second why reason I would chose Maxwell to play Jack because he can act very caring. He displayed this when the penguins were taken from his father in Mr. Popper’s Penguins. This showed that he was very caring a protective of the penguins and that he really wanted them back. This relates to the book Orbiting Jupiter because Jack is caring and does everything in his power to protect Joseph. He shows this when Joseph falls into the river. Jack dumps everything in his backpack and uses it to pull Joseph out of the freezing water. Then when he is home he tries to take all of the blame for it.
My third reason why I would chose Maxwell is because he can act very brave. He displayed this because he stood up to the zoo keeper to get his penguins back. This relates to the book Orbiting Jupiter because Jack jumped into the river to save Joseph and he stood up to the kids that were planing to beat up Joseph.
I would chose Liam Hemworth to play Jack’s dad because he can act respectfully, protective, and he is very hard working. He plays in both Thor movies, and in Ghostbusters.
My first reason I would chose Liam Hemsworth is because he can act out respectful parts in movies. Like when he played Thor he is very respectful to his friends. Jack’s dad is also respectful like when Joseph’s dad came over and wanted to see where they put Joseph.
My second reason I would chose Liam Hemsworth is because he can act as protective characters. Like in Thor the Dark World, Thor was willing to sacrifice himself to save his friends. Jack’s dad was very concerned for Jack and Joseph when they were in the river.
My third reason I would chose Liam Hemsworth is because he is very hard working. Brad is very hardworking by you have to be hardworking to be actor. Jack’s dad is hardworking because he has a farm which is very hard work in it’s self.
P.s. Sorry I don't read the credits on movies.
Question - '' As an audience member to Orbiting Jupiter, how do you think Joseph's character has changed from chapter 1 to chapter 2?''
Answer - As an audience member I think Joseph's character has changed because he has become reckless and more comfortable around the school. I think that Joseph's character has change because he has become more reckless because he started to go on the ice and slide around. I think this is reckless because the ice is thine so he may fall through it, and the river moves very fast. I also think that Joseph's character has changed because he seems to be more comfortable around the school because he raced couch Swieteck up the climbing rope, and he also took the questions that Mr. D'Vlney gave to him. These are the reasons why I think Joseph's character has changed because he has become reckless and is more comfortable in and around the school.
